Joint Exercise of Powers Agreement (JPA) for the Santa Ynez River Valley Groundwater Basin Central Management Area Groundwater Sustainability Agency

The JPA became effective November 28, 2023.

The CMA GSA JPA Agreement was endorsed by the CMA GSA Committee at a public meeting held on September 25, 2023.  The governing body for each of the CMA GSA member agencies approved joining this JPA.

The purpose of the CMA GSA is to implement and comply with Sustainale Groundwater Management Act (SGMA) in the CMA portion of the Santa Ynez River Valley Groundwater Basin by serving as the CMA's GSA, implementing the Groundwater Sustainability Plan (GSP) for the CMA, and coordinating with the EMA GSA and WMA GSA in sustainably managing the Basin pursuant to SGMA.
